Here at CPPS we offer a variety of groups to cater to the different interests of our students. These groups meet up at lunch times and learn so much about their particular interest and from interacting with peers that have similar interests to them.
Each Monday, during lunchtime, interested student from Stage 1 participate in Lego Club. Students work collaboratively and individually to create and explore their world using Lego.
Connells Point Code Club is a school based program for children aged 9-11. During Code Club the students develop projects facilitated by the teacher enabling the children to learn how to program by showing them how to make computer games, animations and websites.
Code Club is about fun, creativity, and learning through exploring. It's important that the children enjoy their time at Code Club. They should understand that they're in charge of the computer, and can (and should) make it do what they want, not the other way around.
Connells Point Public School provides opportunities for students to play chess and develop their strategic skills. They play during lunchtimes either on our giant outdoor board or may learn with tutors from the Sydney Chess Academy (for a fee) on Tuesdays during Term 2. Students who are interested in participating in these chess programs should contact Mrs Smith.
