Mission Statement
 

Connells Point Public School aims to provide a happy, supportive environment where children are encouraged to become self-motivated,
co-operative learners while striving for excellence in their academic, cultural, physical and social development.

Belief Statement

We believe children learn most effectively when:

  • they are in a happy, secure, stimulating and flexible learning environment
  • there is a relationship between teacher and student based on trust and mutual respect
  • motivation for learning is intrinsic and extrinsic

The range of teaching strategies and learning activities allows students and teachers to:

  • set achievable goals with the provision for challenge and enrichment
  • reflect and self-evaluate
  • assess and be assessed in a variety of ways

We also encourage parents to fully support and value their children's learning.

Canteen

All canteens in NSW public schools must meet certain requirements. These include providing more healthy food and drink options – to make the healthy choice an easy choice for students. Visit Healthy school canteens to learn more.

Our canteen is managed by paid canteen co-ordinators and staffed by parent volunteers. It aims to provide healthy and nutritious snacks and lunches at reasonable cost to students. It depends on parent volunteers to ensure this service can continue. Profits are donated to the P&C for distribution to the school.

Uniforms

When students wear a school uniform, they feel included in our school community.

Students, teachers, parents and carers, as well as members of our local community helped develop our school uniform to make sure it:

  • meets the requirements of occupational health and safety, anti-discrimination and equal opportunity legislation

  • includes items that are affordable, comfortable and made from easy-care and easy-wear fabrics

  • is appropriate for the full range of school activities

  • is suitable for all body shapes.

Connells Point Public School Uniform Shop 

The uniform shop is operated on a voluntary basis and provides all uniform needs for children K-6.  The shop is open for the first few days of Term 1, but generally operates every Monday and Thursday morning from approximately 8.45am to 11.00am. Orders can be left at the school office, emailed to the school or you can email the uniform shop directly at uniformshop@cppspandc.org if the shop is unattended. Profits from this shop contribute to P&C fundraising.

Hiring our facilities

You may apply to use our school’s facilities for appropriate purposes provided your hiring of the facility doesn't interfere with our teaching and learning programs.

We assess each application on a case-by-case basis. Find out more at Using school facilities.
